If you follow a medical treatment, bring enough for your stay and write down both the cial and scientific name of your medicine in case you lose it (it may be available in Bali , but under a different brand). Other useful accessories include a pair of pres: sunglasses if needed, and small foam earplugs if your sleep is light – coks seem to nev er sleep in Bali , and village life starts at 5am.

If you have a choice, it is better to use several small bags, so you can leave some of your gear at a hotel or a friend's place when taking a side trip. It is also worthwhile to purchase a smart travellers' belt or pouch - can safeguard your money and travel documents

Planning for the Worst

Travelling in Bali is rather safe, but theft can occur. Having a copy of your plane ticket, credit card and passport (or a record of their numbers f easier to process their replacements. Keep a copy with you, and leave another one with somebody at home.

Most credit cards supply you with trave insurance when you purchase your ticket. If not, travel agents will be able to sell you insurance po leaving, inquire about the exact nature of t the coverage.
